Dr. Sarah Garcia-Portillo is a first-generation nurse and college student. She understands the challenges faced by adult learners pursuing nursing degrees. With extensive experience working with students in various nursing programs, including LVN, ADN, BSN, MSN, and DNP, she offers sessions covering a wide range of topics such as:

• Lecture preparation & study tips 

• Nursing content spanning fundamentals to advanced specialties

• NCLEX preparation

• Exam readiness, time management, organization, and more.

Having worked as an RN since 2002 and as a Nurse Educator for over a decade, Dr. Garcia-Portillo has a solid understanding of the educational needs of nursing students. Her five years of experience as a Nursing Academic Tutor at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas, further enriches her ability to support students effectively.

Recognizing the impact of the internet and platforms like Zoom and Google Meet, particularly evident during the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Garcia-Portillo established Texas Nursing Tutor, LLC, aiming to reach and assist students directly in their study environments. Growing and mentoring our future nurses is her passion.
